Competitor ad analysis
Paste any brand's Meta or TikTok Ad Library URL and get a full structural teardown. Hook, scores, A/B hypotheses. Steal the strategy, not the ad.
What it is
AdRevila's core job is structural teardown of any video ad, from any brand, running on Meta or TikTok. Paste the Ad Library URL — your own creative or a competitor's — and get a scored report: hook archetype, Schwartz awareness stage, Cialdini levers, Hormozi value-equation scores, and A/B hypotheses. The goal is to steal the strategy, not the ad.
The distinction matters. The surface of a Liquid IV ad — the creator, the color palette, the music — is Liquid IV's. The mechanism underneath (Proof-First hook, Solution-Aware framing, reciprocity lever in a "hydration myth" body) belongs to no one. That mechanism transfers to your brand, your category, your creative.
How it works
Paste any publicly accessible Meta Ad Library or TikTok Ad Library URL into AdRevila. One Gemini analysis pass watches the full video — not a thumbnail, not a transcript, the actual creative from first frame to CTA. The model identifies what's happening structurally: where the hook fires, which archetype it uses, what persuasion job the body is doing, how the offer is framed, whether the visual register matches the inferred awareness stage.
The output is a single structured report rendered as interactive HTML in your dashboard. Every section scores a specific dimension:
- Hook archetype — primary and secondary, from the five archetypes that account for most winning DTC creative.
- Schwartz stage — which audience this ad was written for, with a confidence note when it straddles two.
- Cialdini levers — up to three, ranked by visibility in the creative (social proof, authority, liking, scarcity, reciprocity, commitment, unity).
- Hormozi value-equation scores — Dream Outcome, Perceived Likelihood, Time Delay, Effort, each scored high/medium/low.
- AIDA / PAS / Whitman Life Force 8 mapping — the body's persuasion structure.
- Letter grade (A–F) — the rollup. See the AdRevila grading rubric for what each letter means operationally.
- A/B hypotheses — three specific things worth testing, derived from the scores.
The same report is available as a shareable public link and a PDF export.
How to use it
Pull the three highest-spend ads from a brand you study — Olipop, Ridge, Mejuri, AG1 — from the Meta Ad Library. Run all three through AdRevila. You are not looking for which ad is best. You are looking for which mechanism is consistent across all three. A brand running Pattern Interrupt hooks against Solution-Aware traffic at scale has tested its way to that combination. The mechanism is the finding.
Then brief against the mechanism, not the ad. A Proof-First hook earns its beat with a subscriber count on a newsletter and with a clinical number on a supplement. The hook archetype transfers; the number changes. The Schwartz stage stays the same; the language adapts to your category. That is the senior-strategist move: copy the invisible structure and rewrite the visible surface.
The A/B hypotheses in the report accelerate this step. They are specific: "Test a Direct Address hook against this Pattern Interrupt — the Solution-Aware qualifier in a Direct Address may improve hold rate for this offer type." Brief directly against a hypothesis, ship into a small ad set, read the hook-rate delta.
For competitive monitoring, the workflow is the same: watch which brands are increasing spend on specific hook-archetype and Schwartz-stage combinations. If every top-spending DTC supplement brand is shifting from Problem-Aware PAS bodies to Solution-Aware Proof-First hooks, that is a signal about where the category is in its adoption curve.
Why it matters
Most competitive research stops at the surface: save the ad to a swipe file, note that it's "UGC-style," move on. That observation tells a creative team nothing actionable. A swipe file full of screenshots is a mood board; a swipe file annotated with mechanisms is a brief factory.
The gap between those two is the structural teardown. Knowing that a brand is running a Bold Statement hook with Liking and Social Proof levers against Solution-Aware traffic at a B+ grade tells a writer what to execute and a strategist what to test. The ad itself is an example; the mechanism is the instruction.
Competitor ad analysis at this level used to require a senior strategist watching the video, annotating manually, translating intuition into a scored framework. That process takes forty minutes per ad and doesn't scale. AdRevila runs the same diagnostic in the time it takes to copy a URL. The thinking is yours; the scoring scaffolding is automated.

Frequently asked
- Do I need to own the ad or the ad account to analyze it?
- No. AdRevila works from publicly available Meta Ad Library and TikTok Ad Library URLs. Paste any brand's ad URL — your own or a competitor's — and the analysis runs the same way.
- What does the teardown actually score?
- The report scores hook archetype (primary and secondary), Schwartz awareness stage, Cialdini levers fired, Hormozi value-equation levers (Dream Outcome, Perceived Likelihood, Time Delay, Effort), AIDA/PAS/Whitman Life Force 8 mapping, and an overall letter grade (A–F). It also generates A/B hypotheses you can brief against.
- Does it work on TikTok ads as well as Meta ads?
- Yes. Paste a URL from the Meta Ad Library or the TikTok Ad Library. AdRevila fetches the video, runs one Gemini analysis pass watching the full creative, and produces the same structured report either way.
- Can I analyze multiple ads in one session?
- You can analyze one ad per submission. Your first analysis is free; additional reports draw from your credit pack. There is no bulk or batch import in the current version.
